STERLING – Charles "Chuck" Wayne Kornewald, 64, died Monday, February 22, 2021.

He was born on March 9, 1956 in Decatur, IL, the son of Charles A. and Betty L. (Ladd)Kornewald. He had worked at Quebcor in Mount Morris a few years. Later heworked at Credit Auto Sales in Dixon for 20 years and also was a car salesman in the area. Before retiring, he worked at Autozone in Dixon.

Survivors are his children, Matthew Kornewald of Rock Falls, Dustin Sugars of Sterling, Mallory Kornewald of Sterling and Macy Kornewald of Rock Falls; his sisters, Diane (Ted) Umstead of Walton, KY, Linda (Terry) Wolf and Heather (Marty) Cooper, both of Rock Falls; his brother, Dennis Schick of Tampico; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Sherie Schick.

Masks and social distancing requirements will be in effect for a gathering of friends and family to be held Saturday, February 27, 2021 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the McDonald Funeral Home, 505 First Ave. in Sterling.
