Hank's obituary
It is with profound sorrow that we share the passing of Charles "Hank" Erickson, who left us all on the evening of January 16, 2026 surrounded by family. Born on May 23, 1942, Hank lived a full and vibrant life. His legacy will forever remain in the countless lives he touched.
Hank was a devoted husband to his wife of 60 years, Rosemary Erickson, and a loving father to his children Eric, Christine Williams, Brian, and Ryan. A proud grandfather of 8 wonderful grandchildren, he brought joy into the lives of those grandchildren; Garrett, Wyatt, Hailey, Corey, Casey, Christian, Hope Williams, and Ian Erickson.
He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Freeman Erickson, and his mother, Davelyn Jones Erickson.
His sister, Susie Waddelow, sister-in-law Kathy Sreenan, brothers-in-law Don Waddelow and Patrick Sreenan, daughters-in-law, Debbie, Sharon, and Karleen Erickson, son-in-law, Joseph Williams, nieces Phyllis Comu and Kristin Waddelow, and nephews Neil Sreenan and Jeff Waddelow will continue to honor his memory.
Hank graduated from Highland Park High School in Dallas, Texas in 1960, and was a member of the Highland Park Scots football team. He attended Texas Tech University, and University Of North Texas, where met and fell in love with his wife Rosemary. They married in June of 1965, and settled in the Dallas area, raising four children. Hank served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve from 1963-1969. He had already begun his successful banking career in Dallas, Texas at Preston State Bank in 1964 - a career in the Financial Services industry that spanned over 40 years with Dallas companies ACS, M-Tech, Dataplex, and ADP. Hank even owned a retail business in Dallas in the early 1980s - Stereo and Video Systems - located across from Jesuit College Preparatory School on Inwood Rd. A talented guitar player and singer, Hank played in various bands from the 1960s - 1980s, including Dallas based bands The Caravelles, The Jello Truck, and the Lone Star Express, and had a passion for music that he passed on to his children, and grandchildren. Another favorite hobby of Hanks was acquiring, owning and operating all kinds of transportation - various cars, motorcycles, RVs, boats, and even obtained his private pilot's license in the late 1970s. He was fortunate enough to travel extensively with family, friends, and work colleagues throughout his life. His legacy as a warm-hearted and dedicated husband, father, and grandfather, affectionately known as "Papa," will live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
A Funeral Mass for Hank will be held at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in the Sanctuary - located at 600 S. Jupiter Rd., Richardson, Texas 75081 on Friday, February 13th at 10:30AM.
