Charlie's obituary
Charles Matthew Hempelman (5/12/2009 - 6/3/2023)
Charlie was loving and loyal. He was truly a dog that loved everyone. Described as an extremely intelligent “goof ball”, Charlie loved playing with friends, eating lots of snacks (especially Grandpa’s bacon) and playing fetch – which turned into “keep away!”
Born in Oakley, California in 2009, Charlie was introduced to the Hempelman family. He immediately was adopted after he laid down on daddy’s foot then got up and peed on the other foot. His first night home was a special slumber party with his 4 yr older sister. They continued their special bond for 14 amazing years.
In 2019, Charlie moved to Suwanee, GA where he inherited his very own mansion (the extension) and rolling hills and foliage (the backyard). He loved his walks along the Chattahoochee and making friends in the backyard (deer, squirrels, chipmunks & rabbits). He would often get in trouble digging up Mr. Squirrels winter harvest.
Charlie loved pestering Grandma and baby sister during dinner time and would always try to get them to give him snacks and let him out the backdoor. Being an “extremely intelligent” dog, he was so proud of older sister getting accepted to Georgia Institute of Technology. He will always be a Yellow Jacket fan! Charlie spent his last days surrounded by family and friends who love him and miss him dearly! America’s favorite Cowboy, Will Rogers, said it best –
"If there are no dogs in Heaven, then when I die, I want to go where they went."
