The Pueblo Zoo Education Team will miss Charlie's positive energy and playful humor. He summed it up best himself when answering this question on his ZooALIVE application - What special skills, talents, or interests do you bring to the team? - with the following response:

"I am very outgoing and friendly! I think the combination of being responsible, which helps the team because I always carry more than my own weight, and making people laugh, to help visitors and keep people motivated, matter the most." 

And he wrote that when he was only 12 years old! He will be missed.

I have, like everyone, lost many people in the course of my life. I discovered this great quote by Albert Einstein, about 30 years ago. It is something he said over the loss of his Beloved sister. When I think of the loss of Charlie, I am reminded of this quote, more and more. It illustrates how some things in life are difficult to understand. It illustrates, further, that there were certain things that even perhaps the greatest mind that ever existed, did not understand:

"Our situation on this earth seems strange. We all appear here, involuntarily, and uninvited, for a brief stay, without knowing why. For me, it is enough to wonder at the secrets."
