Charles's obituary

**In Loving Memory of Charles Edward Davis (September 5, 1946 - September 12, 2023)**

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Charles Edward Davis, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. Charles, aged 77, passed away on September 12, 2023, surrounded by his family, after a life well-lived.

Mr. Charles Edward Davis, known as Baby, was born on September 5, 1946 in Georgetown, South Carolina to the late Buster and Anna Belle Davis. He is preceded in death by his siblings Fred, Frozena (Teen), Prince, Willie (Tokyo), Thomas, Mary Helen, James, and Ernestine. Charles’ upbringing instilled in him the values of family, hard work, and kindness, which he carried with him throughout his life.

In 1968, Charles married the love of his life, Arthurene and they celebrated an incredible 55 years of marriage together. Their enduring bond was a testament to love, loyalty, and unwavering support for one another. Together, they provided a strong foundation of unconditional love and values for their children.

Charles had a passion for life that was evident in his love for singing, dancing, fishing, music, and cars. He could often be found singing his favorite tunes, dancing to the rhythm of life, or casting his line into the water, reveling in the tranquility of nature. His love for music and cars was infectious, and he shared these passions with anyone fortunate enough to know him.

Beyond his personal interests, Charles was very passionate about helping family and friends. He possessed a generous spirit, always ready to lend a helping hand, offer sage advice, or provide unwavering support. His kindness touched the lives of many and left a lasting impact.

Charles gained a lot of friends who became family throughout his professional career. He worked 11 years at Seymour Lubin Furs and dedicated 31 years of his life to General Motors, where he worked tirelessly and with great pride. His dedication to his job was a testament to his strong work ethic and commitment to providing for his family.

Charles was a doting family man. His family was the center of his world, and he took immense pride in watching them grow and flourish. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness that will forever echo in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He leaves his most precious memories to his loving soulmate and devoted wife, Arthurene, affectionately called by him 'Rene,' children Marquette of Decatur, Georgia, 'Emerald' Patrice (Peter) of Covington, Georgia, Shalisa (James) of Temple, Texas, and Crystal of New York, New York, grandchildren LeChante, John, Alexandre, Armani, Luv Lee, Amazing Grace, Jayden, Cameran, Kaleigh, Ava, Carter, Cody, and Jared, great-grandchildren Taliyah and Amory, his brother George of Cocoa, Florida, sister in law Elizabeth, mother-in-law Corene (whom he enjoyed joking and debating with), beloved family dog Spunky, best friends, Doretha, Wayne, Robert, Arthur, Larry, and Cecil, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

A celebration of Charles’ life will be held on Saturday, September 30th at 12:00 PM at Scot Ward Funeral Services at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens in Conyers, GA. His final resting place will be in a mausoleum, therefore in lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Davis Family.

As we say our farewells, let us remember Charles for the joy he brought into our lives, the love he shared, and the selflessness he embodied. His memory will forever live on in our hearts, and his legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire us all.
