It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mr. Charles Crawford. Charles was born on March 5, 1945, and gracefully departed this life on June 27, 2023. A man known for his friendly manner, polite nature, and unwavering respect for the environment, Charles left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Charles was born in Pomona ,Ca. and lived in Colton , Ca. most of his life until moving to Las Vegas, NV, in 2020. Charles worked for San Bernardino County for 45 years. During his lifetime, Charles distinguished himself through his profound kindness and generosity, traits that infused his professional and personal life. He devoted much of his younger years to the Lighthouse For The Blind, where he served as an invaluable volunteer. As a member of the Mummers Theater Group, Charles brought joy and laughter to the community. His artistic talent was often recognized in local newspapers, which frequently published his artwork.
His belief system was deeply rooted in the teachings of the Faith Evangelical Church, in Colton and Reconciled Church in Las Vegas, where he was a regular attendee. Charles loved sharing his wisdom, encouraging everyone to be kind to others. His legacy will be a testament to his fundamental belief in the power of kindness.
Charles is survived by his sons, David Crawford and step-son Steven Dumont, his sisters, Carol Engelbretson and Barbara Drescher, and his brother, William Crawford. He was a cherished grandfather to Billy and Richard Hiner. He also remained in the hearts of his ex-wife, Patricia Crawford. Charles was predeceased by his beloved father, Willard Crawford, his mother, Katherine Crawford, his dear wife, Toby Crawford, his daughter, Elissa Hiner, and his brother, James Crawford.
A funeral service in honor of Charles will be held on July 28, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Montecito Memorial Park and Mortuary. Charles' life of kindness, benevolence, and creativity will be celebrated and cherished by all who knew him. His departure creates a void that will be difficult to fill, but his enduring spirit will continue to guide and inspire us.
