Charles's obituary
Charles Harold Dills passed away peacefully on November 30, 2025, in Tool, Texas, at the age of 89, with his daughter and Ronnie lovingly by his side. Born on April 14, 1936, in Prescott, Arkansas, Charles's life was a rich tapestry woven with devotion to faith, family, and the quiet beauty of everyday joys.
A proud graduate of Texas A&M University and a participant in the Army ROTC, Charles pursued a career as a designing engineer. His life after college blossomed into a journey anchored in love and commitment to those dearest to him.
He was the eldest child of Vivian and Benjamin Dills and is now reunited with his beloved wife Patricia Dills; his sister Joan Dills Dean Patterson; his brother Larry Dean; and his parents. He is remembered with deep affection by his daughter Lynn; sons Larry, Charles Jr., and James; and bonus son Ronnie Norris. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were among his greatest sources of pride.
Charles moved through life with grace—his love for ballroom dancing evident in each poised step. He found peace by the water with a fishing pole in hand, joy on the greens during rounds of golf, and thrill in cheering for his Texas A&M Aggies. A collector of classic films, he cherished timeless stories told through black-and-white reels.
Always impeccably dressed and marked by a warm smile that sparkled in his eyes, Charles carried himself with humility and gentle strength. His unwavering kindness left an enduring impression on all who crossed his path.
A devoted member of Payne Spring Baptist Church, he found purpose in worship and community. He looked forward to his visit from his nephew Tim Patterson and loved when his great grand KayJae would stop by to hug on him.
May the memory of Charles Harold Dills bring comfort to all who knew him—a man whose legacy glows with love, laughter, faith, and quiet grace.
