Chuck's obituary
Charles "Chuck" DeBoer, 94, of Sewell, NJ, passed away on July 05, 2025.
Chuck was born on December 22, 1930, to Henrietta and Charles DeBoer in Lansing, Michigan. After graduating from Syracuse University, he attained a PhD in Chemistry from Purdue University. He went directly to E. I. duPont de Nemours where he worked for 35 years. It was where he met MaryAnn, and they married in 1956. Charles and MaryAnn were blessed with three children, Cheryl (George) Peck, Sharon (Joseph) Rochford and Lisa (David) Buchanan. Chuck was a dedicated family man. He worked hard yet had time to play cards or board games after work. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often demonstrated. He was always there to help and always tried his best to support them. Chuck was also a passionate golfer and could often be found at The Golden Pheasant Golf Course when he wasn’t at home.
For over a decade, the family vacationed together in Ocean City, NJ. Wonderful memories were created here. Chuck liked to play Michigan Rummy with his grandchildren, he also liked to fish off the beach and visit the casinos. These were very happy times. Chuck also liked to work in his garden and maintained one of the nicest lawns on the street. He also enjoyed the NY Times Crossword puzzles.
Anyone who knew Chuck knew that he was the most dedicated father and husband a family could ask for. Chuck was predeceased by MaryAnn, his wife of 44 years and Lisa, his loving daughter. He is survived by daughters Cheryl and Sharon, grandchildren Danielle, Kristen, Stephen, Jason, Alicia, Devon and Patrick. He is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren Joshua, Ava, Jude Jr., Logan, Parker and Mason.
At Chuck's request, there will be no funeral. The family will celebrate in private.
