Charles “Charlie”'s obituary

It is with solemn hearts that we announce the passing of Mr. Charles “Charlie” King. Born on  of a March 5, 1897 until his peaceful departure on September 1, 1986. He was born to the late Mr. Howard and Mrs. Annie King of Georgetown, S.C.

He was married to Mrs. Estell “Fleetie”Johnson King of Marion, S.C., and to this union five children were born. Three of who preceded him in death, two sons; Mr. Howard and Mr. Willie Lee King, and a daughter; Mrs. Katie Bridgers.

He was a World War I Veteran assigned Postal Duties during his tour of duty in France. 

As we mourn the loss of Charles “Grand daddy Charlie” we also celebrate the longevity and depth of his life, recognizing the impact he had on those around him. In these moments of remembrance, may we find comfort and peace.

He leaves to mourn two daughters; Mrs. Mildred “Milburn” King Gurley, Marion, S.C., and Mrs. Tona Annie L. King Smith, Pittsburg, PA., eleven grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
