On Thursdays I spent quality time with Chuckles. The best part was doing things to get him to smile. There is a great line from the "Tuesdays with Morrie" story , "you talk, I'll listen", and he listened quite well as I rambled on, with that great smile of his. The family dog, Scooter would join us, and Chuck made the dog smile as he rubbed the head and ears of Scooter. Chuck gave me so many times to share with him, when we were at Kairos meetings through the years. Smile on Chuckles!
Chuck was such a sweet and loving soul, he walked my son to school every morning for several years before the pandemic. Meant the world to us that he and Bev welcomed our kiddo into their home daily. They felt like family from the get go. Chuck will always be in our memories. We are so very sorry for his passing. Thinking of his loving family.
So sorry for Chuck's passing. Shirley and I enjoyed working with him as part of the Kairos team. Chuck always had such a great smile, warm spirit, and willingness to serve. He is missed...
Chuck's devotion to his faith was admirable and I believe he found it a great source of comfort and solace. His prison ministry with his devoted wife Bev meant so much to him and I'm sure he touched and changed many lives. I remember my last visit with him in Seattle during an Easter Holiday weekend. Bruce, Mark, Chuck and I with other family visited a local park. It was lovely to be together, outside, walking and talking. We even came across Easter eggs hidden along the pathway. I'll miss Chuck. Rest in peace Patches.
I am grieved over Chuck's death. He was a great friend, a true inspiration, and a faithful Christian brother in Kairos. I will miss him. I pray for Bev and the rest of the family in this time of sorrow.
My condolences to Beverly and his family; he will truly be missed!! He introduced me to Kairos and his faith introduced me to a loving and forgiving God that brought me a long friendship! R.I.P. My friend!!
