Charles's obituary
Buzz was born on August 21st, 1932 in Chicago, IL. He enlisted in the US army at just 17 years old. He took pride in serving his country during the Korean War where his duty led him to France, Germany and Panama to name a few. He married Jewell Elliott on August 28th, 1954. Buzz was employed as an Electrical Engineer at Columbia Machine for nearly 50 years where he traveled the world.
Buzz was a simple man with a heart of Gold. One of the smartest men you’d ever meet. He was an avid reader, had quite the sweet tooth, a loyal Cubs fan, loved the Indy 500 and of course his lunchables. He had a passion for micro midgets racing where he raced and was very involved for decades. He didn’t sweat the small stuff and would always tell others “Don’t give $100 worth of attention to $1 worth of problems”. It was no surprise that his wishes were to have no services. Instead he left detailed instructions to his children on how to celebrate his mission here, which has now been completed. Along with these came a warning; if his wishes were not adhered to he would be back and would “not be happy”, so they will do just as he wished.
Buzz leaves behind a somewhat dysfunctional but amazing family that he was very proud of: His children; Nancy Cox Christensen of Manassas, Virginia, Vicki (David) Cline of Cooks Mills, IL, Michael Beasley of Palm Bay, FL, Brad (Eleonor) Beasley of Mattoon, IL and Pennie Schnell of Mattoon, IL. He also leaves behind many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and more. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister and brothers.
