It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Charles Brooks on September 20, 2025. Charles, a beloved family member and friend, was born on June 9, 1955, and his presence will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved him.

Charles is survived by his devoted siblings, Jewel Brooks Bowman, Everett Brooks, and Karen Brooks Evans. His love and generosity extended to his nieces and nephews, April Bowman, Shayla Martin, Everett Brooks Jr., Edmarr Alford, Kyleer Evans, and Kenya Lathem Burton and a host of aunts and cousins.

Charles was predeceased by his dear mother, Margaret Ann Walker, his father, Charles Brooks, his grandmother, Cornelius Walker Matthews,  his grandmother, Nana Brooks and niece Keshana Marie Lathem.

Charles' passing leaves an irreplaceable void in our hearts. He graced us with his warmth, wisdom, and an enduring sense of humor that provided comfort even during challenging times. His tireless spirit will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to have known him.

We wish to extend our sincere gratitude to Terry Woodard for his unwavering support during this difficult time. His compassion and kindness have been a guiding light for us all.

Charles' life was a testament to his loving character and indomitable will. As we mourn his loss, we also celebrate a life well-lived, and carry forward the lessons he taught, the love he shared, and the memories that will continue to brighten our lives. We will miss you deeply, Charles.

An intimate Memorial service will be hosted by Jewel Bowman and Terry Woodard, October  4, 2025.
