Charles's obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Charles Benefiel, a much-loved husband, father, brother, and servant of the community. Born on July 1, 1952, Charles lived a life defined by compassion, humility, and dedication to the welfare of others before he passed away on January 9, 2026.
Charles leaves behind a beloved family who will forever cherish his memories. His wife, Sharon Benefiel, their children, Charles Perice, Walter Dowell, Kristy Dowell, and Beverly Dowell, and his sisters, Debra Land, Nancy Roberts, and Pamela Miller, all mourn his loss. Each of them was a special recipient of Charles's selfless love and unending care.
In addition to his commitments as a family man, Charles also passionately served as a volunteer at Helped Families with Special Need Children. His work in this organization underscored his deep empathy for others and his readiness to give his time and energy towards making the world a better place.
A lover of the outdoors, Charles found comfort and joy in the simple pleasure of being on his boat, or fishing with family and friends. His home was a haven, rendering a testament to his warm and inviting personality.
Charles will be remembered for his caring spirit and the way he used his own strength to uplift those around him. A consistent advocate for the people of his community, he frequently participated in charity rides, demonstrating his strong will to support those in need.
One of the most precious lessons Charles imparted is the value of staying humble. His life was an embodiment of this principle. Charles' passing leaves a void that will be hard to fill, but his legacy of humility, service, and love continues to inspire and guide those he left behind.
