Charles Reardon Bejcek's obituary
Charles Reardon Bejcek "Chuck,Roondy, Ruru, Dad, Bro", 83, of Carrollton, TX, passed away on December 19, 2022 in Plano, TX .
Chuck was born on October 7th, 1939 to Otto John & Betty Jo Bejcek in Phoenix, Arizona and was the 1st of 3 boys, brother to Richard and John. The family moved to San Gabriel, California in 1944 and he attended Alhambra High School, later transferring to San Gabriel High School where he graduated in 1957. Upon the family moving to San Francisco, Chuck went on to attend Menlo College where he studied International Relations until the family moved to Dallas, TX in 1959. He then went on to proudly serve his country in the US Airforce from April 5th, 1960 to Dec 18th 1963, during which time they sent him to Yale University to learn Mandarin and become an interpreter for the USAF. He later joined the ROTC after being honorably discharged from the USAF and resigned his commission with the ROTC program in 1968. He also enjoyed serving America's communities, saving lives, and shaping futures as a major with the Civil Air Patrol.
Chuck went on to work in the communications industry at Motorola until 1976. He then became an independent rep for Gentry Marketing until starting his own communications company, Comquip, with his Dad OJ in 1981. Chuck joined Carroll Hollingsworth, a close friend, at DH Marketing and remained with them until his passing.
Following in the footsteps of his Father OJ, who served the community many years, Chuck and his brother Richard also served on the board of directors for Seniors Adult Services/Metrocrest Services.
Chuck was extremely hardworking and charismatic, he always had a smile on his face and was willing to help, and was a friend to all. Family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. He met Patricia Hawley in 1981, and in 1986 they adopted a baby girl naming her Ashley Nicole. Carrying on the loving family legacy of OJ and BJ was very important to him. He was unendingly proud of his daughter Ashley and grandson Kaden, and always tried his best to support them.
Chuck was passionate about family, airplanes, and his work. Some of his favorite passtimes were playing golf, visiting Cavanaugh Air Museum with his brother and grandson, going flying and boating with his brother Dick, taking his grandson to see airplanes take off and land at Addison airport, meeting friends at Bic's diner for breakfast, lunch with his brothers John, Dick and long-time family friend Sheffy at Twin Peaks, going to family get togethers, which included watching the Dallas Cowboys. Anyone who knew him, knew that he was the most loving son, father, brother, uncle, and cousin.
Chuck loved music and the sound of the vibraphone and some of his favorite artists were Gary McFarland, The Beach Boys, Chuck Mangione and Seals and Croft.
As Chuck loved us all, we will also continue loving him as we find comfort in knowing he is always with us in spirit and will forever remain in our hearts. He was preceded in death by his Father and Mother, OJ and BJ and his brother John. He is survived by his daughter Ashley Barlow and husband Jake; grandson Kaden Jaramillo of Grapevine, TX; his brother Richard Bejcek of Mckinney, TX and 3 children, Terry and his wife Sharon and their 3 children (Justin, Lindsay, Sophie) of Celina, TX; Bethany Williams and husband Jeremy of Sachse, TX; Allison Wright and husband Scott and their 2 children (Gavin and Brooklynn) of McKinney, TX; Chuck's brother, John's wife Vicki of Dallas,TX and their 3 children Shellye of Dallas, TX; Keith and 2 children (Julia and Jackson) of Tyler, TX; Carie and husband Mike and their son Brenden of Carrollton, TX.
