Background
Charlie never placed much value on possessions, as a former Catholic priest, he measured wealth in compassion and stimulating conversation. What he did believe in, unwaveringly, was using whatever influence he had to lift others up.
In the last few years, as his kidneys gradually declined and reshaped his daily life. The medical realities, the fatigue, the quiet perseverance, all of it played a role in his passing on November 22, 2025.
Therefore, a tribute in lieu of flowers can be made to the American Kidney Fund in honor of “Charles Ara”.
