Charlene Evonee Pettus, our beloved "Shanky," blessed the Universe February 4th, 1972 - making a presence and name for herself the moment she stepped on the scene. A beloved daughter, mother, sister, auntie, friend, and cousin. In her physical absence, we are mourning. However, we have a host of memories to remember her by: her being the life of every party, the many overnight trips to the casino, single handedly taking Santa's job by coming to every Christmas Eve gathering with garbage bags full of gifts, the many flowers and cards she gifted loved ones over the years, our family trips to the snow and amusement parks ("all on them, on purpose"), her style and grace - never wearing the same outfit more than once and always keeping us on our toes with her many hairstyles. We encourage friends and family to use this space to share memories and photos as we continue to celebrate the life of Charlene Pettus, and the many ways she brought smiles to our faces.
