Background
Charlene Marietta passed away on the evening of May 24 surrounded by all her loved ones. She was only 55 years young.
Charlene had a condition called “wet brain,” a degenerative brain disease.
The thing is she never let us know that she had this condition. Not until nearly the end when her physical symptoms would no longer let her hide it from us. She didn’t want the rest of our family to be sad because honestly, she was a really happy go-lucky kind of person. She lived for the moment and she was always smiling. She was the light of the party and always was up for an adventure with friends or family. She loved being around people.
Our family is heartbroken over her passing. Charlene's parents Herb and Lucille already had to bury another son - our brother Chris - eleven years ago and they had to fund his funeral. Just two and a half years ago, my Aunt Angie - my mom’s sister - was in the El Paso shooting. Now my Mom and Dad have to bury a daughter - my sister Charlene - and my parents are in their mid-80s. Charlene had not yet thought about a will. Surviving sons and daughters feel that our parents should not have the stress of trying to figure out funeral expenses after everything they’ve been through.
That’s where friends and family and incredible samaritans like you come in. Please consider a donation in Charlene’s memory. Our parents, as well as my whole family will be so grateful for your gift that will help with the following expenses:
* Casket $1100
* Cemetery plot $800
* Facility usage for visitation: $450
* Flat headstone $350
* Funeral reception $2000
* Transportation / hearse $725
* Embalming $800
* Flowers $300
Total: $6525
Any and all donations will go to these funeral expenses. Any excess donations will be applied to any other costs associated with Charlene’s funeral. Charlene's family thanks you for your donation. All funds donated will be directed to Cynthia (who is Charlene's sister) first and then be used to pay for funeral arrangements. And even if you cannot donate at this time, we understand. Could you please share so that we can give Charlene the best send-off we can? Contribute
