Charlene's obituary

Charlene Ann Lathrom (Cunningham) went home to be with Jesus just past 11pm on Thursday, December 1st 2022 at the age of 74. She is survived by her husband of 54 years Ernie Lathrom, son, Brad (CarieAn) Lathrom, daughter, Kimberly Lathrom, granddaughters, Aubrey and Olivia Lathrom, as well as her future Son-in-Law, Joe Stenstrom. She was proceeded in death by her foster mother, Margaret (Harry) Ostheller, foster father, Albert Dressel, and her sister, Donna Dressel. She joined her foster family at the age of four years old and this is also when she met her lifelong love, Ernie. However, it wasn’t until she was in her late teenage years that they realized their love for each other. They were joined in holy matrimony at South Hill Full Gospel Assembly, when she was nineteen and together they shared 54 years of marital bliss. She spent 18 years as a special needs para educator in the Franklin Pierce School District, at both Brookdale Elementary and Midland Elementary. She also spent many years helping in the family business at Pochels Appliance and TV in Parkland. Her favorite job was being a stay at home mom and housewife to her two children and husband. She loved her family and Jesus more than anything in this world. She would do anything for them and she would not hesitate to tell anyone who would listen. She often said to them, “I love you more than you could ever know”, and she meant it. She loved to do arts and crafts, and bake cakes and pies. It was definitely her “love language”. She especially enjoyed painting with her granddaughters and she was a very talented painter, and cake decorator. Friends and family that knew her well probably have had a wedding cake, birthday cake, pies, cookies, a painting, a Mrs. Butterworth jar, or a stuffed clown doll, made by her. Ever since she was a little girl she loved spending time at the ocean. There were countless camping trips with family and friends to Long Beach, Ocean Shores, Copalis, Kalaloch, and Tounge Point. As well as many others around “the loop”. Working at Doctors Hospital as a cook’s helper was where her famous Holiday Popovers came from. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother to her family and she will be dearly missed. A memorial service celebrating her life is scheduled for January 7th, 2023 at 10am at Sound Life Church in Fredrickson. Please join us in celebrating the life of someone whose life cannot be summed up in words.
