Charlene's obituary
Charlene Gentry, beloved daughter of the late Charles Samuel Gentry and Wanda Jo Gentry, was born October 19th, 1953 in Lubbock Tx. She passed away peacefully in her home on June 1st, 2024 due to complications from Pancreatic Cancer.
Charlene is survived by her three brothers, Thomas Gentry, Vaughn Gentry, and Jeffrey Gentry. Her three daughters ,Tammy Bolander, Anna Elliott-Kindle, and Paula Elliott. Her nine grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
Charlene loved the Lord with all her heart, and was saved at the age of 13 at Free Will Baptist in Lubbock Tx. She not only continually prayed for her families salvation, but for everyone else's as well.
Charlene dedicated many years of her life to serving her community as a respected member of the Lubbock County Sheriff's Department. She retired in 2016, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and dedication.
Outside of her career, Charlene enjoyed spending time with her family and pursuing her hobbies. She had a passion for sewing, crocheting, gardening, painting, raising farm animals, antique cars, fishing, camping, car racing, arrowhead hunting, and playing guitar and violin. She loved traveling, especially to see the bluebonnets.
She never met a stranger and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Graveside Services will be held at Englewood Cemetery, 1100 N 20th St. in Slaton Tx, on Friday June 7th, 2024 at 10am.
