Charito's obituary
Charito Te Calica, the enduring strength of her family, gracefully completed her journey here on Earth on February 2, 2026, in Daly City, California, at the age of 70. She returned home to God while she was surrounded by the love of her family that was her greatest pride.
Born in the Philippines on January 8, 1956, Charito’s life was a testament to a mother’s selfless love, defined by the quiet sacrifices she made for those she held dear. She was a devoted mother who poured her life into her children, and she found a special, renewed calling as a wonderful grandmother. To her grandkids, she was a source of endless warmth, spoiling them with the kind of love only a grandmother can provide.
Charito was a woman of profound spirit and a great sense of humor. She had a quick wit and a joyful heart, a gift that she intentionally passed on to her children. She dedicated herself to ensuring her children grew deep in their faith, providing them with a spiritual foundation and the ability to find laughter even in life's challenges.
Her kitchen was the beating heart of the household, where the smell of her cooking served as a permanent "welcome home" to anyone who walked through the door. To Charito, food was more than sustenance; it was her love language. A gifted cook, she expressed her love through feeding others, she ensured that no one, whether family, friend, or stranger, ever left her home hungry. To her, making sure her family always had food was her way of ensuring they always felt cherished.
While her family mourns her here on earth, they take great comfort in knowing that Charito has been reunited in heaven with her beloved daughter, Ernestine.
Her greatest legacy is the family she built: a family she taught to always come together in love and laughter.
Charito is survived by her devoted husband, Ernesto; her children, Chermaine, Gabriel and Roselle, Aika and Czar, and Tonie and Alberto; her adored grandchildren, Mateo, Charlie Marie, Rafael, and Aika Jr.
