Background
With heavy hearts, we say goodbye to Chantel Marie Parrish, born Jan 30, 1972 – Nov 26, 2024 A beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Chantel was known for her kind, loving, caring, and humorous spirit. She lived her life with immense passion and a deep commitment to serving others. Whether through her nurturing care, her infectious laughter, or her selflessness, Chantel's presence was a gift to all who knew her.
She is survived by her four children, Ashley, Kayla, Jake, and Luke, her granddaughter Scarlett, her two brothers, David (and his wife Diana), Michael, and her sister Christie, along with nieces, nephews, and many other family members and friends whose lives were enriched by her love.
Though she has left an unfillable void, her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her loved ones and the lives she touched along the way. We find comfort in the beautiful moments she shared with us and the everlasting love she gave.
Chantel's life was a beautiful tapestry of accomplishments, passions, and deep connections. Music held a special place in her heart—her voice was her language, a means of expression, solace, and a way to connect with others. Whether through singing, karaoke with her parents, or lifting her voice in praise to God, music was a constant companion in her life.
Beyond music, Chantel found joy in many other pursuits. She was passionate about cooking, health, and fitness, often integrating these into her life. Running marathons and traveling to new places were experiences she cherished, each journey providing a fresh perspective on life.
Chantel’s story of transformation became widely known when she lost half her body weight and became an inspiration to many. She was featured on the cover of People magazine, appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show, and was a guest on numerous radio shows and Christian TV stations. Through these platforms, she shared her weight loss journey, as well as her walk with God, encouraging others to embrace health, faith, and perseverance.
Her love for others was evident in the way she hosted Bible studies in her home, creating a warm and welcoming environment for those in need of fellowship. Chantel made it a priority to ensure that no one was ever alone on Thanksgiving, extending kindness and hospitality to all who needed it. Additionally, she wrote multiple books, touching lives with her wisdom and faith and passion.
Through it all, Chantel’s life reflected her deep commitment to health, faith, family, and a relentless desire to inspire and uplift others.
Chantel will always be remembered, deeply missed, and eternally loved.
