Channing's obituary
It is with deep sadness that we announce the untimely passing of Channing O’Neal, born on June 23, 2009, and passed away on September 28, 2023. He was a beacon of light in our lives, and his absence will be felt profoundly by all who knew him.
Channing is survived by his loving parents, Kacie Gillespie, John Gillespie and Brandon O’Neal. He leaves behind his brothers, Jamie Gillespie and Camden O’Neal, and his cherished grandparents, Donna King, James Wilson and Janet Hopkins. Channing will be remembered as a caring son, a protective brother, and a fun-loving grandson.
Charming and full of life, Channing delighted in the simple pleasures of life. His favorite foods were Chicken broccoli Alfredo and a good old Double Quarter Pounder with cheese & fries, never forgetting his sweet tooth for Chocolate lava cakes. He relished Coca Cola, his go-to beverage. His love for Classic Rock and Russian Techno music was unmatched, and his favorite movies included the thrilling 'Alien vs. Predator'.
Channing was a loyal fan of games such as Call of Duty, Minecraft and Roblox. His recreational activities varied from hanging out with friends, riding his bike to playing video games and going to the lake and the pool. He loved to spend his vacations at the beach and cherished his time at the local lake.
With a personality described as humorous, kind, and smart, Channing often encouraged his friends and family to be true to themselves. He left behind a legacy of kindness and generosity. Despite being shy, his silly antics always managed to put a smile on everyone's faces.
One of Channing's greatest accomplishments was finishing the 8th grade. He had a deep love for WWII history and could talk extensively about the types of tanks and planes used during the war. He was self-teaching himself Russian and German, which was a testament to his intelligence and curiosity.
Though we mourn the loss of our bright star, we remember Channing's love for animals, his favorite color green, his achievements, and his lessons. He remains in our hearts, and his memory will live on in the love and kindness he shared with us.
