In Loving Memory of Chandrakant Manibhai Patel (1931–2024)

Chandrakant Manibhai Patel, MD, age 93, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2024, at his home in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, surrounded by his loving family. His courageous battle against chronic lung disease showcased his remarkable strength and unwavering resilience. Chandrakant's zest for life, optimism and kindness touched the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Chandrakant was born on November 21, 1931, in Bukedea, Uganda to Mr. Manibhai and Mrs. Chanchalben Patel of Gujarat, India. He received his early education across various locations in East Africa. Following the completion of his undergraduate studies in Mumbai, India, he graduated with a medical degree at the B.J. Medical College in Ahmedabad, India. He practiced medicine in East Africa, Scotland, and eventually in northeastern Massachusetts, specializing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Chandrakant served his patients with tireless energy, compassion, profound kindness, and meticulous diligence. He made Andover, Massachusetts his cherished home.

Chandrakant was an avid fan of New England sports teams. He had a passion for traveling with his friends, exploring the world with a profound love for learning.

Chandrakant was a devoted husband, cherishing his beloved wife Naliniben for an incredible 67 years. His boundless love and unwavering commitment radiated not only within his nuclear family but also embraced his friends and extended family.

Throughout his life, Chandrakant exemplified great generosity, leaving a lasting impact on everyone in his domestic life, professional career and during retirement. His infectious laughter and genuine interest in uplifting others created a sense of abundance and joy that resonated deeply with all who crossed his path.

Chandrakant is survived by his beloved wife Naliniben; his children, Neeta Demeulenaere (Gilles) of Chicago, IL and Samir Patel (Arti) of Princeton, NJ and his grandchildren, Alex (Skylar), Philip, Shaan, and Simon.

A celebration of Chandrakant’s extraordinary life will be held on Saturday January 11, 2025, at 11:00am, B Ocean Resort, Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
