Celia's obituary
Celia Pacheco, was born in Jerecuaro, GTO on May 1st, 1949 to Calletano Elizondo and Macaria Gomez. She passed away peacefully on December 20, 2022, in her home in Bakersfield, CA after a short battle with lung cancer.
Celia had six children, Ernesto, Baby Boy, Junior, and Tino, twin daughters Maribel and Marisol, and nine grandkids and one great grand baby who she loved all the same. She always provided support and love for her family. Celia worked very hard in the fields most of her life, and even though she left the house around 4 a.m., she made sure to get her little girls ready for school before she left. She braided their hair, got them dressed, and left a batch of burritos on the counter for her kids to eat. Her kids never left the house without eating. She had a passion for feeding people and she always made sure her kids, grandkids, or anyone that came to her house had a nice plate of warm food. If you ever ate at her house more than likely she sent you home with a to-go plate for dinner or your lunch the next day. Celia could make a meal out of practically anything. If you ever mention you liked flour tortillas, you would get a fresh batch a few days later.
Celia was well-loved in her small town of Greenfield, California, and also in Bakersfield, California where along with her son Tino, daughter Maribel and grandkids moved to in 2007. She was a compassionate spirit whose passion was caring for others. To know Celia was to find a best friend, a second mom, or a grandma. You didn't even have to be her kid or grandkid, she was always called, Grandma, Gmom, Ama, or Bolis. Her kids made fun of how she was the most popular person at home because her phone would start ringing at 6 or 7 in the morning. Celia also loved her sisters and brother in laws and reminiscing about the good old days with them always made her smile because of all the sneaky things they use to do together. Celia always helped everyone in need, she never thought about it twice when it came to helping people going through some rough times. She cared deeply for her brothers, nieces, and nephews as well.
Her second passion was planting flowers, especially rose bushes. She had every color of roses and took care of them with so much love. She also loved planting a variety of chiles for the daily freshly-made salsas she uses to make. She enjoyed taking care of people and her plants.
Celia was preceded in death by her sons Cruz Jr., Baby Boy, and more recently Faustino “Tino” Pacheco. Also, by her parents, and brothers Hermilo, Ruben, and Rogelio Elizondo. She is survived by her son Ernesto(Inez), daughters Maribel (Daniel) and Marisol (Freddy), and her grandchildren Junior, Tony, and Alyssa Pacheco. Adrian, Chris and Juanito Ayala. Brenda, Alfredo, Joey, and grandbaby Joey Ray Argueta. Her brothers Martin, Timo, and Manuel Elizondo and numerous nieces, nephews, sisters, and brother-in-laws.
