When i was pretty young my grandparents took me to visit my aunt, uncle, and cousins. During my time there aunt Cecilia kept trying to get me to read, but I wouldn't i hated it. After days of her brining me book after book she finally brought me "where the sidewalk ends" I opened it and started looking at the silly pictures and began to read. I started copying as many poems as I could to take home with me. Aunt Cecilia was so proud she finally got me reading! I don't think i would love reading today if she had not tried so hard. 

Thank you aunt Cecilia. I love and miss you greatly. 

We'realmost there

Dear Lon, Lisa, Julie , TJ and family, 

My  thoughts and prayers are with you during these days as they have been over the last several years. I am so thankful that Cecilia’s Mass was videotaped and posted. It was very special to pray along with you even though we are miles apart. I hope the celebration  in California goes well this week. Gary and I have so many wonderful memories of our times with you and Cecilia. The four of us shared many years in Flagstaff, at NAU and in the school district. I pray that Cecilia may rest in peace and that God may bless all of you with peace and comfort. Love, Diane 

A birthday memory - Ms. Owen and I both had offices on the second story at the Admin office on Sparrow Avenue.  She was the Technology Director and I worked for Dr. Fillerup.  The Sunshine Committee started to celebrate monthly birthdays at the admin center.  One day they posted the February Birthday list and it included your year of birth.  Cecilia did not like that one lil bit so the list was revised to the date of the current month.   Always beautiful, always smiling.  Love, Mary

Lon, I would like to offer my sincerest condolences. Cecilia and you were always so warm and kind whenever we stopped by or stayed as we traveled. She always had such a welcoming smile. I am so sorry for your loss.

Having learned of Cecilia's passing I wish to express my condolences to Lon and the family. It's a hard time of life when you lose someone so dear as Cecilia. She possessed a beautiful soul. I recall one time when she insisted that the photographer take a picture of her and Governor Napolitano and me at a gathering  in Old Main. She certainly made a wonderful, endearing impression on me with that gesture and demonstrated  her beautiful personality.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Cecilia was a special person and will be missed. I plan to attend the service in Flagstaff.   -Doug Umlah
