Cecilia Anne Echeverria, beloved daughter of Raul and Rosemary Alyce Echeverria, died unexpectedly on January 13th from injuries sustained in a fatal car accident. She was 49 years old. This sudden tragic loss has left her family shocked and deeply saddened.

Cecilia Anne was born on April 5,1974 in El Paso, Texas where she attended Loretto Academy. Cecilia was active in school affairs, playing volleyball and cheerleading. She was an accomplished and captivating pianist as well as a talented folklorico dancer, dancing with Rosa Guerrero and Ballet Folklorico Quetzales for many years. After graduating high school, Cecilia attended the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) matriculating with a Bachelors in Business Administration in Management and Marketing.

Cecilia, also lovingly called Annie, Lila, or Ceci by family and friends, was fluent in English and Spanish, and enjoyed several years of working in retail at The Popular and Dillards, helping people to craft their perfect fashion ensembles. She then embarked on a new career journey and served as a project leader, production manager, process engineer, and software quality assurance manager at DATAMARK, Inc, where she worked for 8 years until the ocean (and her sister) called to her from San Diego, California. After moving to San Diego in 2009, she found a new home at ActionLink for over 12 years where she served as a National Account Manager for Fortune 100 companies such as Sony and Intel.

In addition to being a talented manager, Annie was also very creative and spent time doing arts and crafts with her mother, sister, and nieces as an on-going hobby. She was skilled at glassmaking, scrapbooking, and painting, enjoying the occasional Paint & Wine session with loved ones. She also loved to relax watching movies, venture to concerts and Broadway/ballet shows, and followed PBR (professional bull riding). Whenever possible, she traveled far and wide, enjoying nature in places like the Redwood Forest and Bryce Canyon, as well as exploring ancient civilizations in places like Mexico City and Rome.

Anyone who knew Lila, knew that she was kind, loving, caring, warm and thoughtful. She loved animals, especially her bearded dragon fondly called “Puppy”, but first in her heart were her six nieces and nephews, her siblings, and her beloved parents. Family was the center of her life and she was always taking her nieces and nephews places, doing fun things with them, and was there with advice or heart-to-heart talks. She was an incredible model of unconditional love and acceptance, and she always dropped everything to help others in a crisis. She was generous, hospitable, and funny, and so many friends became her sisters and brothers.

Annie took joy in the simple things in life, such as good food, a family moment, or a lovely shiny piece of art or jewelry. She was always smiling and that smile lit up the lives of those who she left behind. She was a woman of faith and we know she is now with her Father in heaven. Her family mourns her and will always do so, but takes joy in the beauty of a happy life lived by a truly beautiful person inside and out.
