We sadly announce the passing of Cecil Wayne Smith, who graciously left this world on May 11, 2024. Wayne, a sweet, hardworking, and God-loving family man, was born on October 19, 1940, and spent 83 years blessing us with his kindness and unwavering faith.

Wayne’s spirit of giving touched everyone who knew him, and his legacy of kindness will continue to inspire all of us. He often shared his enduring wisdom with those around him, most notably his belief to "Never lose your faith". His words served as a testament to his firm belief that faith was the driving force behind every success and the balm for every hardship.

Wayne is survived by his loving daughter, Kristi Cockrell, granddaughter Nadia Cockrell and great-grandfather Nala Hicks. His love for his family was always apparent. His loss is deeply felt by those who had the privilege of being a part of his life, and his memory will always be carried in their hearts.

The memorial service for Wayne will be held on May 18, 2024, at 12:00 PM at the Chelsea Church of God in Chelsea AL. We invite you to join us in celebrating Wayne’s life and honoring the profound impact he had on us all. We will remember him as a man of faith, a dedicated family man, and a friend to all.
