The Johnny Cavelle Memorial Scholarship Event will be a celebration of everything Cavett "Johnny" Cavelle accomplished throughout his time owning and instructing at Johnny Cavelle Dance Studios.

The studio's first location opened in Aberdeen, SD in 1968, and to say the rest is history, is too trivial for the size and scope his reach was by the time he retired in 2009. At that time, he had studios in Aberdeen, Redfield, Watertown, Huron, and Milbank. He averaged about 600 students a year for 40 years which adds up to approximately 24,000 students.

Gathering everything together for this event has been a joy. We are putting together copies of recital programs over the decades, newspaper clippings, photos of him with his students, video, and so much more. We are sure you will enjoy seeing everything as much as we are enjoying going through it ourselves!

The event is come and go as you please. Please feel free to pop in for as little or as much time feels right for you. You can of course spend the whole time perusing all of the memorabilia and chatting with old classmates. Don't forget to sign the guestbook on your way in or out. It will be a lovely piece to add to Mr. Cavelle's memorabilia collection. A heartfelt list of hopefully many of his cherished students and friends over the years.
