Background
Donations will go directly to the Cecchetti Council of America a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
Johnny Cavelle, Mr. Cavelle to his many students, loved ballet and truly enjoyed sharing that love with his dancers. He taught the Cecchetti method of ballet for 25 years. Mr. Cavelle believed Cecchetti offered a solid technical base for his dancers to flourish in all styles of dance.
Mr. Cavelle would often attend the Cecchetti International Summer School, a two week intensive program for students and teachers. He encouraged his students to take advantage of the camp, and was so proud when he had a chance to watch them dance both in classes and at the performance at the end of the session. His dancers would bring home a wealth of knowledge and technique after their attendance at the Summer School.
Donations will go toward sending a dancer/dancers to the Cecchetti International Summer School in Mr. Cavelle’s name. Cost for one student to attend is approximately $2,200.
A portion of the proceeds will go toward the memorial celebration.
