It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cathy Welch, a beloved mother, mother-in-law, and friend to many. Cathy was born on April 30, 1964, and peacefully left this world on August 23, 2025.

Cathy was a woman of incredible spirit, described best as loving, generous, kind, stubborn, and funny. The joy she found in life was infectious, uplifting those around her. She taught us the importance of going out of our way to make someone smile, a lesson we will carry in our hearts forever. Cathy's legacy, one of joy and love, will persist through the memories we hold and the stories we share.

Cathy is survived by her children, Catherine Burke, Holden Welch, and Kimberly Welch-Nichols. Her family extended to embrace her son-in-law, Alexander Burke, daughter-in-law, Linsey Welch, and son-in-law, Jessie Nichols, who will mourn her loss deeply. It is worth mentioning the enduring bond Cathy held with her late husband, Robert Welch. Their love story, though cut short, remains a testament to their unyielding commitment to each other.

A Celebration of Life for Cathy will be held on Aug 31, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Martin Luther King Jr. Park. We invite those who knew Cathy, experienced her warmth, and were touched by her generosity to join us as we remember her life and honor her memory. We will have food and drinks and welcome photos and stories to be shared. A playground is available for children to enjoy.

As we say goodbye to Cathy, we recall her words and carry them with us: "If I can make someone smile and laugh, then I know I have done my job." In her memory, we hope to continue spreading the joy and love she imparted upon us. Rest in Peace, Cathy. Your light will forever shine in our hearts.
