Cathy's obituary
Cathy is survived by her husband, Curtis Barfield; her son, Jonathan Barfield, his wife, Jessica Lacobee Barfield, and their children, Bre, Andi Jane, and Dani Kate; her mother, Judy Gaines Clayton-Harter, and her husband Grant Harter; as well as her brother, Scott Clayton, his wife, Carolyn Clayton, and their children, Christin and Matthew. Cathy was preceded in death by her father, Harold Clayton, and her sons, Daniel and Brandon.
Cathy was one of a kind and loved nothing more than her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She touched the lives of so many and made friends everywhere she went. She loved sparkly jewelry, Saints football, makeup, and reality TV. Cathy enjoyed playing games and listening to country music. Most people near to her would tell you she was a hell of a good time and loved to make people laugh. She overpacked for every trip she ever took and the woman could cook a mean casserole. Cathy Barfield will be missed and forever loved.
Cathy will be laid to rest with her son, Daniel, at Sandhill Cemetery with a small graveside service at 2:00pm on Friday, July 16, 2021. Given the public health issues at play, a celebration of life will be held at a later date in South Louisiana. Family and friends will be notified and invited when arrangements have been made.
