Cathryn's obituary
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Cathryn Palmer, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, and sister. Born on September 30, 1961, Cathryn left us on November 15, 2024, leaving a void that can never be filled.
Cathryn is survived by her loving husband, Jeff Palmer, their two sons, Brian and John Palmer, and her precious granddaughter, Lillian Palmer. Her parents, Barbara Martino and Art Straub, her brother, Tom Straub, and her sister, Leah Burke, are left with cherished memories of hers. Cathryn was predeceased by her grandparents, Harry and Lillian Fox, and her dear Uncle Richard Fox and Aunt Barbara Knupp.
A woman of vibrant personality, Cathryn always spoke the truth and wouldn't change direction once she set her mind on something. Compassionate, especially towards the less fortunate and animals, she radiated kindness and generosity. Cathryn had a wonderful fondness for simple pleasures; Bruschetta, chili rellenos, a McDonald's cheeseburger with extra pickles, and a well-cooked steak were her comfort foods. She loved listening to Kid Rock and Los Lonely Boys, and enjoyed watching Reba, Two and a Half Men, and Mash. Among her favorite films were Hocus Pocus, Grease, Beetlejuice, and Twister. Cathryn found delight in the game Train, growing things in her garden, feeding rescues, and visiting her favorite vacation spots - Jerome, Tombstone, Bisbee, Payson, and Michigan. She held a deep passion for the rescues of animals and showed the world her unconditional love and compassion.
Cathryn was a vivacious woman clad in Perrywinkle, her favorite color, who knew the value of a life well-lived. She imparted the best lessons of unconditional love and compassion, teaching by example more than words. Her legacy of kindness and generosity will remain ingrained in the hearts of everyone who had the fortune to know her. She had a special way of breathing life into those who might have otherwise been forgotten. Her light will forever shine bright in our hearts and memories, guiding us through the darkest of times.
