Catherine's obituary
She was born May 2, 1939 in Union Mississippi, in Newton County, to G.C. Russell and Armetta Bentley Russell.
Sometime later in life, while attending Nance Temple Church of God In Christ, in Biloxi, Mississippi, She and her children, James, Beverly and Brian, met Johnnie Thomas. A year later, she and Johnnie married and had a son, Eric. Shortly thereafter, the family was stationed at Lowry Air Force Base in Denver, CO and after five years, moved to Aurora, CO.
Catherine was a devoted housewife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was also active in church as a member of Evangelist Temple Church of God In Christ in Denver, CO. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Johnnie Thomas; sons, James E. Lampkin, Jr., Brian K. Lampkin, and Eric M. Thomas; Two Sisters; Shirley Windham(married to William Windham) and Louise Frison and Three Brothers; Henry Lee Russell, Eddie Ray Russell and George Russell (married to Melvina Russell). Granddaughters; Shan’a L. Lampkin, Rachel Lampkin, Rodney Lampkin, Ariel Lampkin, Samantha E. Thomas, Gabriella C. Thomas, Annabelle M. Thomas, Joseph Lampkin, William Lampkin, Demarr Lampkin, Terell Lampkin, Reniymaa Lampkin and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
