Celebrating the Life of…

Catherine Theodore was born into this world July 17, 1933, in Barbreck Louisiana to Clarence and Alma Thomas. The family moved to Lake Charles, Louisiana in 1950. Catherine joined the Zion Tabernacle Baptist Church in Lake Charles and was a cherished member until she met and married the love of her life Mr. Arthur Theodore. She transferred her membership to the MT Calvary Baptist Church to be with her husband.

Catherine  and Arthur were united in Holy Matrimony on March 8, 1952. Their love affair continues, even though Arthur passed July 08, 2007. Catherine believed she had a great life with Arthur for 55 years on earth but will have an eternity with him in Heaven. They were blessed with 3 children, Arthur Jr, Peggie,  and Thomas.

Arthur and Catherine relocated to Chicago, IL in 1956, where they joined the newly organized Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, Reverend Clay Evans pastor in 1956 and were members until Arthur’s passing in 2007, and Catherine’s return to Lake Charles in October 2011, where she reunited with the Zion Tabernacle Baptist Church. Catherine worked at the First National Bank of Chicago until retirement. Although, Catherine endured a long illness, her faith in God never wavered.

On Thursday February 9, 2023, the Lord called Catherine home for eternal rest. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Arthur, parents Alma and Clarence Thomas. Six brothers, Clarence Jr (Catherine), Welton, Alcee (Mamie), Alphonse (Olivia), Louis, and James Thomas. Her sister Gloria Brown. She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, Peggie Theodore. Sons, Arthur Theodore Jr, and Thomas (Shelynda)Theodore. Grandchildren Channel, Knowledge, Trezher, Aden, Randell, and Reign Theodore. Sister’s Ernestine Brown and Carrie (Otis) Ambrose. Brother Leslie (Janet)Thomas. Sister and Brother In-laws Bee, Melinda, and Helen Thomas. Carolyn (Milton) Anderson, Barbara Hardy, Martin (Marie), Alice, Claudette, and Michael Theodile. Beloved friends Odessa Leonard Brown, Loudella Evans Reed, Rev Vicki D. Johnson, and Patrice Patterson. A host of Nieces and Nephews, and extended Family and Friends.
