Catherine's obituary
Catherine Ann Sullivan, 65, of Mount Prospect, Illinois, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2023 surrounded by loved ones after a long battle with her health.
Catherine was born on February 9, 1958 in Columbus, Ohio and immediately brought joy and laughter into the world. Her family moved to Mount Prospect, Illinois and she went on to graduate from Prospect High School in 1976. After graduating high school, Catherine achieved a degree in Theater and Communications at Illinois State University.
Catherine pursued many talents throughout her life including certified spin instructor and professional makeup artist, but her true passion was for the theater. She performed in a variety of live and commercial theater productions from Chicago to New York City. Her favorite roles included Vera in Stepping Out, Charlotte in Beyond Therapy, Ensemble in Annie, in addition to many more.
Beyond the stage, Catherine’s greatest joy was her two children, Annie and Craig. She is fondly remembered by her warm and silly sense of humor, her ability to turn anything into a song, and her favorite words of encouragement, “Believe in yourself and be kind to everyone.”
Catherine was always the brightest smile in the room and will be dearly missed and always remembered. She is survived by many loving individuals, including her children, Annie Wilson and Craig Zahour, and her siblings, Mary and Michael (Susan) Sullivan. She was predeceased by her parents, Margaret and Vincent Sullivan, and many more cherished family members.
A celebration of life will be held in Catherine’s honor as opposed to traditional funeral services. The family is currently working on planning the celebration and will update her memorial website with that info as soon as it's available.
