Catherine's obituary
Catherine (or “Cat”) was born on February 23, 1964 to Bernard Adamo and Gaye (Maggard) Adamo in Westminster, CA. After graduating from Parkwood High School in 1982, she went on to study criminal justice at Missouri Southern State University, earning her Bachelor of Science degree.
She went on to have a successful career in law enforcement. During her time as a probation and parole officer, she won multiple awards, including Officer of the Year for Oklahoma Northeastern District, Officer of the Year for the State of Oklahoma, and the Denise Spears Meritorious Award for Oklahoma Women in Law Enforcement.
In recent years, Catherine enjoyed spending much of her time volunteering at Souls Harbor, which provides free items and housing for the homeless. She also enjoyed camping and playing her conga drums. She valued learning new things and good fellowship. Those close to her describe her as a “free spirit”, who loved adventure and fun. She was always bubbly and talkative and friendly to everyone she met. She was a loving and generous Nana, mom, sister, and daughter.
Catherine was predeceased by her father, Bernard Adamo. She is survived by her daughter, Darci (Shofler) Voigt and her husband, Kevin Voigt; her daughter, Desireé Shofler; her grandchildren, Genesis, Ezra, Kylie, and Zeke; her mother, Gaye (Maggard) Adamo; her sister, Angela (Adamo) Comstock; her brother, Carl Adamo; her brother, Joe Adamo and his partner, Garry Peskey; and her nephews, Rusty, Lonnie, and David.
