In loving memory of our mother, Catherine Mims Philip.

Catherine Mims Philip, age 72 transitioned on January 7, 2023, at St. Luke Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan, New York. She is survived by her husband, Cletus Philip, her children; Rufus Dunbar, Teresa Fleury, Floyd Jones, Iesha Mims, Lynette Philip, Latanya Philip, Clint Philip and Akeem Gales, her nieces, Cassandra, Toya and Linda, her grandchildren, Olivia, Ryan, Kyler, Lenay, Giovanni, Kimberly, Gavin, Denay, Eva, Ava, DeQuan, SeQuan, Nasir and great grandson Hamilton. 

After receiving her High School Diploma, Catherine became a certified Financial Services Clerk, Bank Teller. Her many jobs included working at the Post Office, being a Cashier and Waitress. 

Catherine was smart, sassy, stubborn, kind and down to earth. She was a strong woman who faced many challenges in her life but overcame them with courage and dignity. Catherine loved dancing, playing cards, and knitting.  She was a woman of faith and loved listening to gospel music. Catherine loved her family.

The viewing and funeral service for Catherine will be held on Monday, January 23, 2023 at Congregational Church of God located on Amsterdam Ave, between 153rd & 154th St. Viewing begins at 5pm and ends at 7pm. Funeral begins at 7pm and ends at 8pm.

Catherine will then be buried on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at Rosedale Cemetery. Burial Procession will meet at Mickeys Sunset Funeral Services located on 1879 Amsterdam Avenue, New York, NY 10031 (between 153rd & 154th St) at 8:30 AM

Mother, you will always be in our hearts, and we will never forget you. We love you so much. Rest in peace
