Catherine's obituary
Catherine "Cathy" Marsden, known affectionately as Cathy , was born on September 7, 1951, and passed away on April 2, 2024. A woman of indomitable spirit and vivacious character, Catherine brought light into the lives of all who knew her. She was a funny, sassy night owl who had the ability to find joy in the simplest pleasures of life.
Catherine is survived by her loving children; her daughter, Jenn Dostie, and her son, Robert Cartlidge, who will forever remember her as the backbone of their family. To her grandchildren, Keirsten Williams, Chase Hare, Blake Cartlidge, and Mykayla Cartlidge, she was a beacon of strength and love. Catherine was predeceased by her father, Fredrick Fletcher and her mother, Loretta Fletcher. Also, predeceased by her loving brothers and sisters.
She found solace and bliss in the pages of her favorite books, notably those by James Patterson, and she had an unshakeable fondness for shows such as ER, Greys Anatomy, and Knotts Landing. Her favorite music ranged from the country tunes of Reba McEntire and Miranda Lambert to the classic rock of Bad English. An ardent fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, Catherine also loved the simple yet fulfilling tasks of reading and cleaning.
Catherine was a woman of unique tastes, from her love for the color purple to her preference for Diet Coke with lots of ice. A celebration of her life will be held on April 21, 2024, at 8:02 PM at South County, where friends and family will gather to remember Catherine's captivating persona and her irreplaceable presence.
Above all, Catherine will be profoundly missed by her family and her care team. Her absence will be deeply felt, for she was indeed a woman very dearly loved. Yet her memory lives on, in the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the love she leaves behind.
