Background
Story of her recovery and then her loss: Cat was in a terrible car wreck a few years ago. She had a traumatic brain injury and had to relearn to walk, talk, and eat again. Doctors did not think she would progress mentally beyond a child, but she pushed through this when they told her that and she fought for her life. She showed everyone that nothing could stop her from healing. She decided she wanted to become a mother and her fiance and her were excited to bring their daughter Kenna into this world. She was induced early, partially because of gestational diabetes and some other complications they didn't fully discuss yet. After almost 2 days of labor, she finally got to 6cm, but felt unwell. She tried to tell one of her sisters, Nely, and in that moment, the doctors rushed in and did all they could to save her life. She died to save her daughter. Amniotic embolism is almost always deadly and she gave her life because time is of the essence for both the mother and the baby when an amniotic embolism enters the mothers bloodstream. Kenna remains in the Newborn ICU and the family are preparing to say good bye. We were all unprepared for this tragic loss and trying to find our way to get through this. Funeral Expenses and shared raising of a baby were not anything the family prepared for and just thank you for any support.
