Catherine's obituary

Catherine “Cathy” Ann Lozupone, age 56, of Owings, MD passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2020.

Cathy was born in Frederick, MD on April 4, 1964, to Barbara A. Stallings and Ernest J. Swann, and spent most of her childhood and teenage years growing up in Greenbelt, MD. Very early on, Cathy exhibited an outgoing and bubbly personality, always making friends and loving to be the center of attention. As a child, she most enjoyed being with her family and taking trips to the beach with her many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Her greatest achievement in life was bringing into the world her son, Jacob S. Rowe, and daughter, Carly A. Rowe. Her best memories were the silly moments they shared and the many adventures they took together. She was a very proud and affectionate mother and found great joy in celebrating her children’s many talents and accomplishments.

Cathy was truly a sweet and good-hearted person, quick to give you a hug or tell you that she loved you. She had a silly personality and an infectious laugh that always brightened the mood or party. She had a lot of faith in the Lord and knew one day that she would be reunited with her mother in Heaven.

Cathy was preceded in death by her sister, Sandra L. Smith, and father, Ernest J. Swann, of Gaithersburg, MD, and her mother, Barbara A. Stallings, of College Park, MD. She is survived by her children, Jacob S. and Carly A. Rowe, of Prince Frederick, MD, and her sister, Constance D. Rogers, of College Park, MD. Additionally, Cathy leaves behind several loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Due to the pandemic, Cathy’s family will hold an outdoor Celebration of Life at the Dunkirk District Park on Sunday, October 18, 2020, at 1:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, Cathy’s family asks that you please share your favorite story of Cathy on this memorial website. Cathy would truly be tickled for her family and friends to share their memories of her.
