Sarah's obituary

Sarah Bishop went home to Jesus on January 14, 1966 at age 63.


Sarah was born to George and Amelia Harris-Bond on November 28, 1902 in Havre de Grace, Maryland. As a child, Sarah learned domestic work from her older sisters.  Sarah met her husband, Oscar growing-up in their hometown. They married March 30, 1922 and went on to have thirteen children.  After a brief time in Philadelphia, they moved and settled on Gravel Hill near relatives.

 In addition to being a dedicated anda loving mother, Sarah also loved watching wrestling on television. Along with her siblings she joined and served at St James AME Church Gravel Hill. Throughout her entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her. 

Sarah joins her parents,, brother Franklin,, daughter Hortence and son Paul in Heaven. She is survived by her husband and twelve children, Celeste Jamison(Arthur), Geraldine Hague(Herman), Alberta Purnell(Raymond), Arcina Benn(Herman), Junie(Geraldine[d]), Gracie Bond(Herbert), Sonny(Grace), Dottie Hall(Morris), George(Anne), Albert(Martha) and Butch(Arthurine). Sisters; Josephine Hilton, Estella Jones and Lucy Bond, Brothers; Harry, George and Charles Bond. A host of nieces. nephews  cousins, relatives and friends.
