Kate's obituary
Catherine "Kate" White made her transition to eternity on February 29, 2024. Born on December 11, 1987, Kate was a remarkable woman known for her resilience, compassion and an undying spirit of hope. She now joins her beloved mother, Carolle White, and sister, Mellissa White, in the next life.
She leaves behind her partner, David Lynch, and two wonderful children who were the joy of her life, born in 2009 and 2012. Kate was a proud alumna of Chamberlain International School, where she graduated in 2006. Her pursuit of learning continued well into her adulthood, as she continuously nurtured her expansive interests.
As a proud member of St. Benedict Parish for the Deaf and an active volunteer at charitable organizations such as Salvation Army Soup Kitchen and Amirah, Kate devoted her life to service and demonstrating love to others. She was a staunch supporter of ASPCA and was deeply passionate about activism against animal cruelty, anti-bullying, aiding addicts, and supporting abused children. She was particularly devoted to raising awareness and aiding survivors of sex trafficking, being a survivor herself.
Remembered by many for her unique tastes, Kate savored every bit of life. From Chicken Caesar wraps, Kraft macaroni and cheese with apple sauce, ribs, cereal, fruits, and her much-loved lemon Italian ice, her palate was as diverse as her interests. The same went for her love for the arts, her taste in books, shows, movies and sports. She held a special place in her heart for works such as "Running with Scissors," "13 Reasons Why," "Good Fellas," and music by Staind, NF, and Lucidious.
A true lover of life, Kate cherished the quiet moments at home as much as the bustling energy of Las Vegas, one of her favorite vacation spots. She was an avid writer, expressing her past traumas through poems and working on a book about her life journey. Kate was a paranormal investigator and a clairvoyant whose encounters often turned skeptics into believers. She loved playing scrabble, uno, and yatzee. Despite her past, Kate held a deep love for children and was an ardent animal activist.
Incredibly brave, Kate decided in 2020 to overcome her addiction to heroin which was a testament of her courage and self-love. To maintain her sobriety, she preferred quieter locations where she could avoid running into people. The few who truly knew Kate, described her as kind-hearted, charismatic, compassionate, empathetic, and a wonderful friend. Her guiding principles of life were simple yet impactful - actions speak louder than words, treat others as you'd like them to treat you, be kind to everyone, and pray for your enemies first and most.
Kate's legacy will be remembered as a beacon of compassion, empathy, strength, and hope. Despite the adversities in her life, she never became heartless. Instead, her heart grew warmer, teaching everyone who knew her the true power of love and kindness. In passing, she leaves behind a world transformed by her presence, touched by her gracious heart, and inspired by her strength.
