Catherine's obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Catherine Campbell, who departed this world on November 22nd, 2025. Catherine was born to Fannie Gandy and William Gebhart on the 29th of September, 1943 and was born in Bridgeton, NJ. She was raised in Dividing Creek, NJ and had 13 siblings; being preceded in death by Alyce Hess, Donald Gebhart, Diane Hamilton, and Colleen Buiance. Catherine was survived by siblings Jean Riley, Charles Gebhart, Paul Snyder, Dave Gebhart, Doris Wise, Betty Ann Schooley, Daniel Snyder, Sharon Cunningham, and Richard Snyder.
Catherine graduated from Bridgeton HS and studied for two years at Bob Jones University where she met her late husband Thomas David Salyer. They moved to Bay City, Michigan where they raised their three sons, Michael, Timothy and Peter. She later went on to marry the late James Campbell.
Catherine was dedicated first and foremost to her Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ. She found peace in the daily reading of the Bible and was active in attendance and service at her local church.
For many years, Catherine was a stay at home mother, attending to the needs of her household. In later years, she worked as an Activities Director at the Rest Home Nursing Home in Midland, Michigan.
Catherine had numerous hobbies and interests. She loved gardening, art, music, dogs and dragging her young boys to countless rummage sales in her never ending quest for a bargain. Another of her favorite activities was the summer time trips to the beach with her family, a true Jersey girl through and through!!
Catherine loved being with family and friends. We will miss her warm smile and playful demeanor.
