A memorial service for Catherine Ann "Cathy" Cummings, 71, of Rogers, AR, will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 17 at the chapel at Fellowship Bible Church of Northwest Arkansas in Rogers. The beloved mother of seven and grandmother of 17 grandchildren died April 27, 2025, surrounded by her children.
Born on June 20, 1953, in St. Louis, Cathy was the third of six children of Anton "Tony" and Florence Weber and was preceded in death by her husband, James "Jim" Alvin Cummings, who died April 12, 2019.
Cathy relayed fond memories of growing up in Bridgeton Terrace on St. Mary's Street where she attended St. Mary's Grade School, playing softball and volleyball. She loved camping and boating on the Mississippi River and taking amazing vacations with her parents and siblings across the country.
Cathy and Jim met on the school bus where Jim would give up his seat to be able to stand near her; they fell in love while attending Pattonville High School, and began their journey as followers of Christ while in college, serving regularly in their local church and ministries. Cathy attended Southeast Missouri State, with a major in special education and a minor in art before they married Aug. 10, 1974. They raised their 7 children primarily in the St. Charles, MO, area, while working several business ventures through the years.
Cathy enjoyed homeschooling her children, teaching art classes through co-ops and local schools, sourdough bread baking, gardening, thrifting, and working in pro-life ministry—and at one point was the director of the St. Peter's pregnancy center. Cathy had the heart of a true worshipper and volunteered on her church’s worship team most of her adult life. She loved supporting her children in their various sport activities and creative endeavors. She was passionate about knowing God’s Word and supported her kid’s decades-long involvement in Bible Quizzing. She loved spending time with her grandkids and recent-born grand babies.
Most recently, Cathy was a devoted worker at Fellowship Bible Church in their One to One Ministry, which provides community, care, and respite for families and individuals experiencing disabilities. Cathy co-led a widows Bible study group from Fellowship and spoke lovingly of its members and impact on her .
Cathy is survived by one sister, Linda (Daniel) Wagner, and four brothers, Mike (Marie), Raymond (Catherine), Donald (Diane),and John (Donna) Weber, all of the St. Louis area.
She is survived by her children, Michelle (Rob) Myers of Orlando, FL; Jamie (Travis) Parker of Wright City, MO; Bethany (Jason) Jacobs of Lake Saint Louis, MO; James (Megan) Cummings of Rogers; Rachel (Chris) Borntrager of Fayetteville, AR; Mathew (Casey) Cummings of Forsyth, MO; and Johnny Cummings of Rogers, AR.

When asked what advice she would give to future generations, she said, "Live your life on the Rock of Jesus.”
