Cassie's obituary

On Thursday, November 24, our longtime friend and coworker, Cassie Lee, unexpectedly passed away. Cassie was a wonderful person with a vibrant personality. She was always outgoing and friendly with everyone, and will be forever missed. She always organized the little ‘extras’ for the OCC, like Secret Santa every year. Whatever the occasion, Cassie always made sure to make everyone feel welcome.

Many of you have shared wonderful memories of Cassie, some are below.  We encourage you to share your photos and memories on the MEMORIES tab.

...

Sassy Cassie- as she was called since the 3rd week of training in Crew Services. She also was nicknamed “Cassie-role” when she gave everyone random nicknames. She had an infectious laugh that will be missed dearly. She loved her Allegiant family. When the team was having a hard time or a team member needed help, she would say “we need to do what we do: we rally”. That was her Hawaiian way of saying we are stepping up and doing whatever we can to turn things around for someone, the department, or OCC. Now we rally for you, Sass. Love you and rest easy. You are incredibly missed.

I find such comfort in this quote & have for years;

"Grief and love are forever intertwined. Grief is the terrible reminder of the depths of our love and, like love, grief is non-negotiable." Cass, you & I clashed like none other. Two headstrong, type A personalities, but you always made me want to be better & I'll forever appreciate you for that. Rest easy- we'll get extra extra lettuce and extra extra onion in your honor

Cassie, it’s really not fair that we only knew each other and got to work together for about a year. It always made the evening go by so much quicker when you were around and I’ll cherish the countless 1AM inside jokes and laughs we shared. I will forever admire your dedication to the team when you were on duty, but more importantly how much you truly cared about taking care of others and making everyone feel included. Blue skies and tailwinds my friend

Cassie, you were the first person I knew outside of dispatch. You were always so friendly. Allegiant won’t be the same without you.

Cassie Lee. I often referred to her as Allegiant’s very own “Aunty Aloha,” such a social butterfly, always walking around and making friends everywhere, just like how she was growing up.

I am fortunate to have known Cassie for over 20 years. She has always been an anchor in our friend group and throughout our Allegiant family, and has become a little sister to me throughout the last 5 years.

She was so loving and nurturing in her own way. I’ll miss her constantly telling me “I’m hungry, what are we eating?!” and I’ll miss her lightning speed during heavy ops “it’s a 90 minute call out you know, do you want me to just do it for you???…I’ll just do it.” Most of all I’ll miss her uncontrollably loud laughter because it reminds me of all the good times we’ve had.

You are so very loved, Cass. Sending you a loud cheeeehuuuu to the skies, I’ll see you (and Maui) again one day.

I’d just like to share Cassie’s impact on me as a Scheduler and a member of the team. She was an extremely knowledgeable Leader, but also a good time and fun person to be around. She always made time to answer questions or address any concerns that we had. She was tough, but kind. Firm yet playful in her own way too! She had this remarkable way of challenging us, pushing me to learn and grow without ever making you feel less than for it. She pushed because she saw us as capable and this is one of many things that I will Always remember about our time working together. I am inspired and want to share what I have learned from her with others. She loved, loved, loved her pups and would talk about them often! She shared stories about life, Hawaii and her Ohana as well. I am eternally grateful and moved by how she led and will always value her presence. Much Respect and Gratitude to her loved ones & friends.

Cassie you were so caring, full of energy and always gave a helping hand. Your jokes made me laugh and you always reached out to make sure others were ok when they came to work. You will forever be in our hearts and prayers.

Cassie always knew how to lift the energy in the room the moment she entered. She tackled any and every problem that arose with ease and grace and would take the heavy burdens off us newbies at the time. I remember her always complimenting me on how well I communicate with the team or how I wore my hair that day. There were times she even let us go to Building 5 to play arcade games and Ping Pong and we’d eagerly run back to tell her who won. If it wasn’t for her, I wouldn’t even be a part of the OCC Newsletter representing Crew Scheduling. I owe a lot to her motivating me to be a stronger crew scheduler so I could eventually make my way up to becoming a Crew Tracker. She will be missed dearly and I will always think of her fondly ❤

When I first met Cassie, she came into our training room and had her arms crossed and she had a very blank look on her face. Needless to say, it was intimidating. And then almost immediately, she erupted in her extremely contagious laughter. And then she went right back to the crossed arms and serious face. Cassie became someone that inspired me, pushed me and helped me to do better and believe in myself and my capabilities here. She was kind and curious and goofy. I enjoyed my time with her. I will cherish that.

...

Year after year Cassie lead Secret Santa in the OCC because she enjoyed meeting who everyone was and knew almost everyone. It’s no secret that she sometimes spilled the beans on who people had as their Secret Santa. It always made me laugh.
