I was friends with Linda and Cass for 20+ years. I found them the home they loved. Linda told me many stories about her family and their activities over the years. Cass was a very kind man and made me laugh so hard - I will always remember that him for that. I loved them both. RIP my friend. Nancy

So sorry for your loss. We always loved coming to see all of you when you lived in Seattle when we were kids. By coincidence, I was getting married in 1995 in Cocoa Beach, Florida. My brother’s and I were driving to get our Tux’s. My brother Collins noticed a guy next to us that looked familiar. Collin yelled out the window, “Are you Col. Schichtle”? The handsome man in a big black convertible with dark sunglasses on replied, “yes”. We told him who we were and that my dad was at the pool at the Holiday Inn. He turned around and went straight to the pool and surprised my dad. Of course we invited him to the wedding. It was so random but so cool to see him and have him there with us. Our heartfelt condolences.

Our sincere condolences to Cass's family. I first met Cass when we both went to Nav School at Waco, TX. He was literally my first friend in the Air Force, and what a great friend he was! Who would've known we would play baseball, football, golf, and continue to fly together during part of our Air Force career. Another happy similarity was we both had a loving family with six kids! Our families thoroughly enjoyed the times we had together in HI, TX, WA and OH. We always tried to stay in touch with how our families were growing and Linda's Christmas Newsletters were always a treat. May God comfort and strengthen you on the loss of your dad. We will always cherish our great memories of Cass and his family! God Bless You All -- Love Cronin and family.

Cassie & Family,

Cass will always be in our hearts. We first met him in 1981 at the Ballistic Missile Office in San Bernardino at Norton Air Force Base. We both worked for him and over time grew to love him, both as a boss but more as a friend. Then we got to work with him again at Yellow Creek in Mississippi and that is where we got to know your beautiful, wonderful mother and your family. He even hired Will again when Sverdrup got the contract at Cape Canaveral. That is when we really got to know he and your mother and we had some great times together going to the movies, out to dinner, traveling to Europe and the many other things we did together. We missed them so much when they moved back to California and we tried to get out there to see them, but not as much as we wished we could have. We are so sad they have left these Earthly bounds, but we know they are in Heaven rejoicing with our Lord.

A few things we remember fondly of Cass’s little favorites include:
Burnt steaks
His old purple plastic cup that he toted around all the time
His love of the Dallas Cowboys
His fondness for black automobiles
Lining his French Fries in a row and then putting pepper all over them
His love for his lovely wife, Linda, and his family
His personal motto: God first, then family, then love for our country, and then work. He always would tell people that at work if they had a crisis in their life.
He was one of a kind but he has left a great legacy behind in his children, his grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and his service to the United States of America in the U.S. Air Force.

Although we cannot be there, we will thinking of your family. Your father was very special with a great sense of humor. Always remember the great days and years spent with a great dad and granddad.

With love,
Will & Jenny Eldridge

In a home of limited means Cass set a personal & professional example for me to follow in my life. I will cherish his love & support for my remaining years. Wendy (spouse) loved Linda & Cass so much & both made her transition from her home in Vietnam to the US so wonderful. She loved his hugs & affection......RIP big brother.
What a wonderful legacy...we will always remember our shared love of family and with laughter our many right wing conversations!!

With much love,
Tim and Joyce Threadgold
