Casey's obituary

Casey Zane Nassett (67), of Stanton, Texas. Was born July 17, 1957, in Great Falls Montana Casey Zane Nassett is preceded by his mother Aldora Florence “Belcour” “Nassett” Knapstead and father Carl Elmer Nassett. Casey or as the grandchildren called him Pawpaw, loved his mother like no one else. He would often tell stories upon stories of her. This includes the story of how his mother got his wife Virginia Mae Nassett to eat deer meat without even knowing it. Then preceded by his sister Zita Nassett Cebella. His brothers Terrence Elsworth Nassett, Dennis Knudt Nassett, and Kevin Glen Nassett. His son Justin Allen Johnson and grandson Justin Caleb Johnson, who in Casey’s own words did not enjoy his deep voice. Through these people as well as experiences in life Casey became the most stubborn and honest man his family had known. He would tell you the truth whether you wanted it or not.

He is survived by his wife Virginia Mae Nassett. Who absolutely could not stand his Santa clause beard. In all honesty we all think he kept the beard to annoy her. His sister Carla Ethel Nassett with her husband Jerry Goodwin. Brother Marvin James Knapstad. His daughters Danielle Zane “Nassett” Faglie and Rebecka Joan “Sparks” Brown with her husband Bradley Todd Brown. Both daughters tested Casey’s patience with either sneaking out with the car or simply get body modifications without his knowledge. He is survived by his son Dusty Aaron Nassett and his wife Linnie Elizabeth “McQuatters” Nassett. Casey would often take his grandchildren to see his son race cars and tormented Dusty just for the fun of it. His daughter in-law Misty Ann “hice” O’Neal and her husband Perry Landon O’Neal. They helped Casey annoy Dusty many times over and would still be helping him to this day. Casey’s favorite people out of all is his grandchildren. He is survived by Donald Trey Herman III, Allan Dale Fragile Jr., Briana Lynn Brown, Rogen Elain Brown, Bailee Eve Brown, Bradley Todd Brown, Trinity Nicole “Johnson” McQuire and her husband Toban Reed McGuire. As well as Hunter Arnold, Kallie Jean O’Neal, Katlynn Rose Purtle and Charles Brayden O’Neal. Each of the children had their own place in the eyes of their pawpaw. Weather it was wearing fingernail paint to work or playing candy land with his grandchildren Casey may not have been the world’s greatest dad, but he was the world’s best Pawpaw. His favorite activities with his grandchildren were watching them ice-skate, play sports or going to the drive in to watch movies. His great grandchildren Nova Jane McGuire, Jameson Zane McGuire and Devin Grant Godfry. One of which called him her friend the other that pulled his bread hair and the last who will wait to meet him.

As for the many friends and family who he will continue to watch grow. He is now greeted by the family that has been patiently waiting for him. I am sure he is running and laughing as well as telling them all our stories. Casey Zane Nassett, passed on December 10 2024, but his memories will pass on to generations.
