Carter's obituary
Carter Roy Perry Jr. was born on July 24, 1957, the first son of Helen and Carter Perry. From the very beginning, he had a gentle, easygoing spirit that stayed with him throughout his life. He was the kind of person who made others feel comfortable, always meeting people with warmth, kindness, and a quiet sense of humor.
Carter took great pride in his work at the Bronx District Attorney’s Office, where he not only enjoyed what he did but truly excelled. In 1989, he married and later became the proud father of two daughters, Jillianne and Noelle. Being their dad was one of the greatest joys of his life, and he loved them deeply. He was so proud of their accomplishments and the women they have become.
Later, Carter made his home in Virginia and worked at Lowe’s until he retired. No matter where life took him, his faith remained at the center of who he was. He loved the Lord and was a devoted member of Liberty Baptist Church, faithfully attending every Sunday. He found joy in singing in the choir and looked forward each year to being part of the live Nativity.
Carter found happiness in the simple things. He loved baseball and was a loyal Yankees fan. He was a member of the YMCA since his youth, he enjoyed swimming at the pool there almost everyday. Carter enjoyed the comraderie of his Silver Sneakers friends. He also loved the beach, especially Yorktown Beach, where he could relax and just take it all in.
He also had an adventurous side that never faded. Even in his late 60s, he was still trying new things and making memories—riding roller coasters, swimming with dolphins on a family cruise with his daughters, riding a mechanical bull, and even climbing a rock wall. He lived life with a sense of fun and curiosity that was truly special.
Carter meant so much to all of us. He will be deeply missed every single day. But we find comfort in knowing that he is now at peace, home with the Lord he loved so dearly.
