Carrie Jane Fanning, 61, of Ridgeville, South Carolina was called home to the Lord September 27, 2020. She died peacefully with her husband by her side in their home after a courageous battle with cancer.
Carrie was born October 3, 1958 in Charleston, SC to the late Walter and Polly Williams. Carrie defined the word selfless. A beloved wife, mother, Nana, Nanny, sister, and friend, she enjoyed her family most of all and her life revolved around her grandchildren. She loved Tennessee football, fishing, the mountains, animals, crab legs, and chocolate. Preceded in death by her parents and brothers Donald and Robert Cannon. She is survived by her soul mate and husband of 35 years, William Fanning Sr. and her three children: Crystal Dennison, William Fanning Jr. and Joseph Fanning. She is also survived by her 5 grandchildren, sisters Sarah Wainwright and Francis Richardson, numerous nieces and nephews and friends. Carrie was immensely proud of her family and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories. A Celebration of life will be held at 5:00pm, Saturday, October 3, 2020, on her birthday. Friends and family have been invited to attend. The family would like to express our thanks for the wonderful help and care given by MSA hospice.
