Carolyn's obituary
Mrs. Carolyn Nan Stephens, age 80, of Aragon, GA, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at a local hospital.
Mrs. Stephens was born in Rome, GA, on January 18, 1943, daughter of the late Griffin Scoggins and the late Adele Agan Scoggins. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Chase Stafford Frasier, and by 4 siblings, Betty Yarbrough, Billy Joe Scoggins, Martha Ann Jordan and Kenneth Scoggins. Mrs. Stephens was a 1961 graduate of Pepperell High School. Before her retirement, she worked for Synovus as the Vice-President of Human Resources for over 40 years.
Mrs. Stephens was a lifelong member of Flint Hill Baptist Church having attended for around 74 years. She loved her church and held many jobs throughout the years including past treasurer as well as the secretary. Mrs. Stephens enjoyed sewing and was quite an accomplished singer as a member of the church choir and, in her younger days, as a member of a quartet with her cousins. Food was her love language and always made sure everyone was fed, especially with her cornbread and fried potatoes. Mrs. Stephens never met a stranger and the more people around her, the better. She adored her family and especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Steve Stephens, Aragon, to whom she was married on April 7, 1963; 2 daughters, Tracy Frasier (Lloyd), Aragon, and Tonya Mazurek, Aragon; 3 grandchildren, Will Frasier (Whitni), Wade Mazurek (Morgan), and Sarah Mazurek; 2 great-grandchildren, Graham Frasier and Grayson Frasier; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3pm on Friday, March 17, 2023, at Flint Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Chris Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Flint Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1pm until 3pm on Friday at Flint Hill Baptist Church.
Pallbearers are to assemble by 2:30 pm on Friday at Flint Hill Baptist Church and include: Will Frasier, Wade Mazurek, Eric Brumbelow, James Davenport, Steve Morgan and Lang Scoggins.
Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, has charge of funeral arrangements.
